Dear Nixie Cosmetics, where are you?

Update: I did receive my items in August of 2009. It took nearly a month, but I did get them. I have also had other readers reply that they’ve placed orders they have received (including in September), and some orders placed early this month (October) that have NOT been received — but October’s not over yet!
If you have ANY information regarding Nixie, and have placed an order between July-now let us know if you have received it, haven’t received it, and when you placed the order. Was everything included in your order? We’re trying to figure out if Nixie is still a company, or if it’s long gone! Hoping it’s the former, not the latter. I love the products to death!
I placed an order in July. It’s not here. I’ve never had this issue with you before, even though your customer service has always been on the iffy side — I’ve never just not received an order.
Have you closed?
Has something horrible happened?
Because I sincerely love(d) you, it’s been a long time since I’ve been so excited about a brand, or enjoyed so many different products from one line. I’m saddened, and deeply hurt by the lack of communication.
And the fact you have my money, and I don’t have the products I ordered. But that’s a different story.
Are you off to stop the illegal whaling in the Pacific? Are you trying to stop global warming? Are you possibly planning a big huge reveal and since you are low on employees, you’ve been unable to fill orders?
Has anyone else placed an order with Nixie Cosmetics and had it not arrive, only to find they are unable to get a hold of the company?
Please, please, please let me know. Maybe we can start a support group.

Hi there!
I just wanted to let you know you are not the only one. I placed an order July 14th and have not received it. My money was collected from my credit card but haven’t heard anything. I’ve tried calling and emailing with no luck. All their contact numbers and email addresses no longer exist. Nice, huh.
Contact your credit card company or bank and tell them you would like to dispute it. I was lucky to have a bank that would do this. I hope you don’t get stuck having to pay your bill.

I know I’ll get the money back on the credit card; I’m not sure of any bank that doesn’t protect against this especially if you don’t get the item. I’m not too worried about that, but I’m really bummed about Nixie. Been ordering their products for around 2 years now, and never had a problem. I did speak with someone who talked to Cindy not too long ago, and their LA store closed, and they’re not sure when they are re-opening. It looks as though they are on an indefinite hiatus.

I had to dispute my order with my bank too. They are out of business. I placed an order with http://www.camerareadycosmetics.com because they have 40% off until its gone sale.

Nancy, the site is still up and running and people are still receiving products. I DID receive mine — it just took some time. At this point, I’m not really sure what is going on with the company, but I will post ALL updates on this original post. Be sure to bookmark it!

I had a similar story except I placed my order on 8/1/2009 and it didn’t arrive till 9/3/2009.
I hate to report this but Nixie’s website is down and ALL INDICATIONS POINT TO NIXIE COSMETICS HAS GONE OUT OF BUSINESS. Why is it when I fall in love with brand they go out business and I have to go back on the hunt for great makeup products? Nixie Cosmetics will surely be missed and I am glad I was able to stock on my products prior to them going out of business.

Yes, I got my order in mid-late August that I placed in July. I assumed that since their “shop” closed (which I was aware was happening) that things got delayed.
With the website down, I’m just shaking my head.
I’m very, very, very surprised that they haven’t tried to sell their back stock at a lower rate. You would imagine if the company is gone they’d want to get rid of it and get some money back to the owners. Unless of course they’re planning on reopening, which if they were, I would hope it would be in the near -not distant- future considering that some of these items are perishable by an indefinite date.
I guess we’ll see what happens. I’m very disappointed, they were a phenomenal company, albeit the awful customer service.

I think Nixie Cosmetics has reopened for business. There website is up and running again but considering my last shopping experience with Nixe (see my posting of September 9, 2009), I am in no rush to place a new order anytime soon. However, if you do place an order, please let us know.

I absolutely will.
Niki, did you receive any contact information from the company? And do you still have the address of where the box came from? If at all possible, could you e-mail any of this information at molly.loretta@gmail.com? I would greatly appreciate it!

I placed an order on 10/08/09 and it still hasn’t arrived yet. I e-mailed them and have yet to hear back. Of course I tried to call them, only to hear “we’re sorry you have reached a number that is no longer in service.” Grrrrr….

I had placed an order in August that took a long time to arrive, however, it DID arrive. Just took a flippin’ month when I never even had it take 10 days in the past.
I’m not really sure what is going on with the company at this point, but bookmark this post as I will update it with any and all information. PLEASE let me know if you receive your items, so that I can update my readers.

I soooooo wish that I had googled and found this blog before I submitted my order on 10/8/09. The money was deducted from my bank account the very next day and I have yet to receive my products. I will be contacting my bank ASAP regarding these funds in hopes of recooping them. I am deeply saddened because I absolutely LOVED Nixie’s products! So, I am hoping that they will resurface in the near future and with an explanation to the loyal yet disappointed customers!

Give it some time — it took nearly a month for me to receive my product in August, and one of my other readers actually placed an order in September which she received in a timely fashion. I am not sure if the company is, or is not, a company at this point in time. I will definitely post any and all updates, however, in this same blog — so bookmark the post!

Well, at this point, I really don’t need the products because I ordered some foundations that I needed ASAP and since I didn’t get them, I just went and purchased some elsewhere. So, i’d just prefer to get my $$ bck at this point. But again, I will definitely continue to check bck with this blog b/c I really want to be kept in the loop with what’s going on with Nixie!

Hi MollyLoretta,
My apologies for my delayed response. Yes, I did receive my Nixie order that I placed on 8/1/2009 and it arrived sometime in early/mid September but as for the receipt, it was an exact printout of my order on the website — an exact copy with the shipping status label “Not Shipping.”
Unfortunately, there was not any additional contact information supplied. However, according to recent YouTube search there are people placing and receiving order from Nixie it just takes quite a while to receive, I, personally, will wait quite some time prior to placing my next Nixie order for I want to be sure I am not ripped off or I place my credit in jeopardy.
I am sorry I couldn’t be more helpful, but if I hear anything else about Nixie, I will post it here on your blog.

Any new info on Nixie? I noticed the other day that their website, which I thought had been down, is up and running again.
I e-mailed them expressing concern about ordering, considering the fact that I know people have had experiences like yours. I haven’t heard back, which isn’t the biggest vote of confidence.
I suppose in order for me to return to them as a customer, I’d have to have some type of explanation about what happened, and at least one timely response to an e-mail!

People have been placing orders and receiving them, so I’m not really sure. I’ll place an order here at some point (when I get extra cash, that is. Moving into a new house sure puts a damper on extra spending money….), and see what happens.
I’m really hoping they don’t go under. I love their eyeshadows and most of their lipsticks. Honestly, if I could trust to get my shipments on time, I’d start selling it for them.

everything has been taking approximately a month to arrive to customers. i would definitely file a dispute if you have not received it by tomorrow (2-15).

Badr, I just talked to a lovely girl who ordered her products in Dec/Jan and received them a month later. I’m thinking they’re still in business — but since they closed down their downtown location (which wasn’t even a store) it’s been taking longer to ship out orders.

I used to work for Nixie Cosmetics, here is the lowdown:
Although their makeup is AMAZING, the are the most unbelievably shady company I have ever known. Here is a list of red flags regarding Nixie:
*When they closed their “pro stores” no employees were notified. Not even management. We all showed up for work one morning and the store was gone. Our checks and W-2s came in the mail shortly after.
*We were never given ANY info on the owner of the company. When we asked about him, we were told he was a wealthy Korean man who preferred to remain annonymous.
*When asked about Nixie’s coorporate headquarters, we were told it was not open to the public and therefore the address was not important.
*When we received product deliveries, paychecks, etc. there was never an address on them, and on occasion they would be delivered by a young Korean man who did not speak english.
*No inventory was ever kept as long as the store was open. The company had no regard for P&L whatsoever.
*The company never did any advertising, and our store was roughly $40,000 in the hole each month for the entire 2 years we were open. They never seemed to care.
I wish all of these things weren’t true, as I love Nixie Cosmetics deeply, but I would not trust these people with any credit card info, or any other personal info at all. I have not placed an order with them since my store closed, and will not in the future
Sorry everyone
